NDA Integrates Two Customer AMS.NET Quoting Applications
October 2009
NDA has integrated the AMS.NET quoting applications of two of its customers making it easier for the two carriers to do business with each other. The integration involves that of a major U.S. carrier and a major Canadian carrier. Initially, when a quote involved a segment in Canada, the U.S. carrier would log into the Canadian carrier’s AMS.NET application to enter the quote request and retrieve pricing. Now, a quote created by the U.S. carrier that crosses into Canada automatically triggers an API quote request to the Canadian carrier’s AMS.NET application. Detailed quote results, including customer specific pricing and a unique quote ID, are passed back to the U.S. carrier’s AMS.NET application and automatically incorporated into the U.S. carrier’s quote. This increases the efficiency of quote creation for the U.S. carrier and decreases administrative costs.
All quote requests from the U.S. carrier are saved in the Canadian carrier’s AMS.NET application along with the quote status. The Canadian carrier is able to retrieve real-time sales metrics on quotes created for planning and forecasting.
Other carriers have also expressed an interest in integrating to the Canadian carrier’s AMS.NET application for quote creation. AMS.NET’s use of SOA/XML web services makes application to application integrations seamless.
